It’s no secret that we love coffees coming from Hex- Zack, one of the co-founders of Roastful, is also involved in the Roasting operations at Hex Coffee. This is one of Zack’s favorite coffees released this year: it’s bright and jammy, reminiscent of Kenyan Coffee.
We love brewing this coffee on no bypass brewing methods like the tricolate to really push extraction and deliver a complex experience. The coffee has a naturally high acidity, using a ratio that highlights some of the sweeter characteristics could be a fun way to taste this coffee as well!
Another coffee very special to us is this Naturally processed Vietnamese coffee from Suedhang. We have a deep love for Vietnamese culture given that Zack’s wonderful wife Sonca was born in Vietnam, and we don’t get to see too many specialty coffees coming out of this country. We’re excited to showcase the potential this country has to offer.
This coffee is fairly soluble given the processing method, which makes it relatively easy to brew! Don’t worry if the draw through is pretty quick, you can extend the ratio to provide a little more extraction, or use an Aeropress to give the coffee a longer steep time.
We love coffees that Luna roasts and are proud to partner with them again this year. It doesn’t get much better than a washed Ethiopian, unless it’s roasted by Luna also!
Brew this coffee in a way to highlight the delicate florals that are present. We love the nuance that comes from Washed Ethiopian coffee, try brewing with quick brew times or with longer ratios!
